Privacy policy
B2B Wholesale Pricing Abakira lets a merchant give each B2B company and company location its own negotiated price. Shopify applies that price at checkout through the app’s discount function, and the app shows it on the storefront through theme app blocks. On Shopify POS, the cashier can attach a company location to the sale from the app’s POS tile, and the app applies the same negotiated price as line discounts.
What we access, and why
- Companies (read and write) — to list the merchant’s B2B companies and their locations, and to save each one’s pricing rules in a data field reserved to the app. When the merchant approves a wholesale application, we create the company, its location and its contact from that application. We never read company contacts back.
- Validations (write) — to install the checkout check that enforces the merchant’s order minimums for B2B buyers.
- Discounts (read and write) — to create and check the single automatic discount that applies the negotiated prices.
- Products (read) — to let the merchant pick products for product-specific prices, and show their titles. We never modify the catalog.
What we store
We store the shop owner contact email supplied by Shopify and the language of the merchant’s Shopify admin. We use them for essential service communication and to serve the app in the appropriate language. The contact email is not a marketing opt-in; we do not send marketing messages without separate, explicit consent.
We also store the shop’s currency, the identifier of the app’s discount, and the identifiers of the companies that have pricing rules (to apply the plan limit). The prices themselves are stored in the merchant’s own Shopify store, on the company and location records.
Wholesale applications. If the merchant adds the wholesale application form to their storefront, we store what the applicant submits (company name, contact name, email, optional phone and tax ID, address, message) until the merchant approves or declines it. As soon as the merchant decides, we delete the personal details and keep only the company name, its country, the storefront language, the decision and its date. A customer redaction request from Shopify also deletes every application sent with that email.
Currencies. To let the merchant set a fixed price in each of the store’s currencies, we read which currencies the store has enabled. We do not store them.
Point of sale. When the cashier applies a company’s prices at the register, the POS tile reads that company’s and location’s pricing rules from the store and writes two hidden properties on the sale, the company and location names and the location identifier, so the order shows which negotiated prices were used. They contain no personal data and are stored by Shopify on the order, not by us. The POS tile sends nothing to our servers.
Apart from these applications, we do not store any buyer or company contact data: no orders, carts or payment details. The discount function and the order minimum check run inside Shopify and send nothing to us.
Who else sees this data
We use Vercel to run the app, Neon to store it, and Crisp (Crisp IM SAS, Nantes, France) for the support chat inside the merchant admin. The support chat is loaded only in the Shopify admin, never on a storefront, and sees only what a merchant chooses to write to us.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share merchant, applicant or buyer data.
- We do not use any data for advertising or profiling.
How long we keep it, and deletion
When a merchant uninstalls the app, the discount stops applying and we immediately clear the contact email and admin language. Shopify sends us a shop redaction request 48 hours later, and we then delete every record we hold for that shop. Merchants can also ask us to delete their data at any time.
The prices you set are saved in your own store, as app metafields on your companies and their locations. Shopify keeps them after you uninstall, and we can’t reach them anymore. If you reinstall, your old prices apply again. To remove them for good, clear each company’s prices in the app before you uninstall. The app also stores on your shop one non-personal flag (whether your plan includes the point-of-sale extension), which it rewrites whenever your plan changes.
How it is protected
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS everywhere, including between the app and its database) and at rest by our database provider.
Our agreement with merchants
We act as a data processor on behalf of the merchant, who remains the controller of their store’s data. We process only the data listed above, only for the purposes listed above. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
